When the strawberries are in season, I love using them in as many ways possible. While we eat plenty of them fresh, I also love using them in smoothies, on granola or mixed into yogurt. One of my family’s very favorite ways is sourdough strawberry shortcake and lately this strawberry cold foam has become a special treat on my afternoon latte.
Strawberry cold foam is smooth, creamy, and has a lovely pink color. It is easy to make and tastes wonderful too! You can use this to top off any iced latte or cold brew coffee. It is delicious paired with many different flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, white chocolate, or even maple syrup.
While some question wether fruity flavors and coffee go together, let me assure you that it does indeed mesh very well! One of my go-to pairings for this cold foam is homemade mocha sauce for a chocolate covered strawberry flavor! The chocolate, strawberry, and coffee are just SO good together! Strawberry cold foam also is a wonderful and very popular topping for iced matcha lattes.
I usually sweeten this cold foam with maple syrup or homemade coffee syrup. I also make my own strawberry sauce using this recipe, but you can easily substitute that for strawberry jam. If you prefer a very smooth texture use seedless jam to get the best results. Personally I don’t mind the strawberry seeds in my cold foam as they are so tiny, but same may not prefer that texture.

Why You’ll Love this Recipe
Quick and Easy – this strawberry cold foam is super easy to make! It takes less than 5 minutes to whip up.
It’s pretty!– who wouldn’t love that beautiful pink color on top of their homemade iced latte made right in the comfort of your own kitchen? It’s like going out to a coffee shop but way more fun and affordable!
Simple Ingredients – this recipe uses very simple ingredients that you most likely already have in your pantry.
Ingredients

Heavy cream – this is what makes the cold foam hold its shape. You may use raw cream if you prefer. Make sure the heavy cream is very cold, straight from the fridge. This will help it froth to its peak.
Milk – whole milk or raw milk
Strawberry puree or strawberry jam – gives that wonderful strawberry flavor! I like making my own strawberry puree using this recipe.
Maple syrup or homemade coffee syrup – adds some sweetness as the strawberry sauce alone isn’t very sweet alone. You may leave this out if you prefer a less sweet coffee. Omit completely if using strawberry jam.
Vanilla extract – use pure vanilla extract

How to Make Strawberry Cold Foam

Step 1: Measure out the heavy cream and milk into a small jar.
Step 2: Add the strawberry sauce or jam to the cream and stir with a fork or small whisk to break it up a bit. This will make it easier to froth if you don’t have chunks.

Step 3: Add the maple syrup or your choice of sweetener and the pure vanilla extract to the jar.
Step 4: Using a handheld milk frother, whip the mixture until the ingredients are fully combined and the cold foam has a smooth, creamy texture. Serve and enjoy!
How to Serve
Strawberry cold foam is best served fresh, right away after making! Make your iced latte, iced matcha, or cold brew coffee (instructions below), then top with the strawberry cold foam. Garnish with a sliced strawberry on the edge of the glass if desired for a pretty touch.

For an iced latte:
When making an iced latte, fill a pint jar or tall glass with ice. Pour in 5-8 oz. of milk (depending on how strong of a coffee flavor you like), pour your freshly brewed espresso in on top of the milk then top it with the cold foam.
If using cold brew coffee or pre-brewed coffee in a french press:
If you are using cold brew coffee, fill a jar about halfway with ice. Fill the jar about three quarters full with coffee, making sure to leave some room for the cold foam, and sweeten to your likeness. Add a splash of cream or half and half if desired, then top with the strawberry cold foam.
You can also make coffee in a french press or regular drip coffee machine for this latte. Cool it completely before using then follow the instructions above.

Recipe FAQs
Cold foam works best when made with both milk and heavy cream. If you use only milk it won’t hold its shape and will deflate and dissolve into the coffee much faster.
