How to use chocolate mocha sauce for coffee…

For hot coffee, add about a tablespoon to your coffee, stir, then taste and adjust the amount, adding more if you like a sweeter taste.

For iced drinks I like to drizzle it around the sides of my jar before adding the ice. After drizzling it all around the sides of the jar or glass, I place the ice in which helps solidify it from the cold until I can add the milk and espresso.

What is mocha sauce?

Mocha sauce is a thick chocolate syrup that is used to sweeten coffee to give a chocolate flavor. An espresso that is made into a latte with this chocolate sauce is called a mocha.

How is mocha sauce made?

Mocha sauce is easy to make at home! Combine sugar, cocoa powder, water, and vanilla extract in a saucepan and boil for a few minutes on a hot stovetop. Pour it into a jar and place in the fridge to cool until thickened.

What kind of cocoa powder should I use?

Any kind will work as long is its pure 100% cocoa and doesn’t have any added sugar. Try experimenting with some different ones. Try regular, maybe dutch processed, or black cocoa powder and see what you like best. It will be delicious regardless of which you decide to use!

What is the consistency of mocha sauce?

It is thin in texture as you make it but once it sits in the fridge for a while it does thicken quite a lot. If you prefer it to be on the thinner side let it sit out of the fridge at room temperature for a few minutes before using. If I’m going to be making an iced coffee I prefer it to be a bit thicker so I can drizzle it down the sides of my jar or whatever I am making my iced coffee in. It makes it look pretty and is fun too! It is best stored in the fridge for longer shelf life.

    1. I’m sorry it didn’t turn out well for you! It is supposed to be slightly runny (drizzle consistency) but not watery. After it cools to room temperature place it in a jar or container in the fridge for a few hours. Once it cools completely it should thicken.
